Abstract:
In the past some businesses had their roots in the weakness or absence of moral principles because of some business man and managers, and at the same time, duties and inspections required for listed companies do not seemed sufficient to increase a good practise and a sustainable development oriented to protect the minority.
Several empirical evidences show that the social report diffusion in big firms have changed behaviours and have influenced positively the governance.
Several case studies show that the compilation of social report have contributed to:
- Introduce new professionals who drive to social accountability in the business;
- Introduce sustainability score card;
- exchange the strategic plan in the sustainability plan,
- Introduce a stakeholder engagement methodology;
- Clear communication;
- Introduce Ethic code oriented to stakeholders;
In this perspective the social report can became an important mean to affirm the values that lead the mission and the good governance oriented to a business ethics.
