The essay focuses on "The Pedagogue" of Clement of Alexandria. It’s a work of fundamental importance for European history, because it marks the birth of Christian Pedagogy. The importance of the School of Catechism in Alexandria is also emphasized, both for the prestige of teachers and for the fight against Gnosticism.
