abstract:
The article reviews some of the most significant educational theories elaborated in the field ofEnlightenment. Particular care has been taken to frame the pedagogical ideas within the moregeneral philosophical context, in order to better grasp its genesis and its meaning. What emerges isa critical look at the century of Enlightenment, which highlights the many contradictions of an eradestined to deeply influence European history.
