Through the detailed examination of the contents of Del primato morale e civile degli Italiani, the article highlights the fundamental importance of education in Gioberti’s thought. In his most significant work, the Turin philosopher hoped, by means of a recovery of the moral and spiritual dimension of education, a rigorous reform of the studies aimed at restoring the ancient Italian primacy in art, literature and science.
