Local, regional and external factors weave a very complex fabric in the ongoing strife throughout the Middle East, from Mesopotamia to Libya, whith a renewed Russian political and military presence, amid the financial weight of Gulf countries, a growing tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia and and an increasing militarisation of the region. A comprehensive solution will require all actors to accept some form of accommodation
