Le temporalità delle immagini della guerra al terrore

The essay analyses the images connected with some of the major events of the War on Terror: the attack on the Twin Towers, the torture at Abu Ghraib and bin Laden’s death. The strategies of representation of the events and the effects of social discourses will be analysed through a “heuristic of anachronism”, that allows to find traces of the images of the past and their reactivation within the images broadcast by western media during the War on Terror, with particular attention to the rhetoric of terror and the passions produced in the audience.
