Postoperative Pain Management

Chapter
Publication Date:
2019
abstract:
Pain is probably the sensation that most characterizes the postoperative course of patients who have undergone surgery. Inadequate treatment strongly worsens the patient’s judgment, may lengthen the duration of hospitalization, and may favor the chronicization of pain. The current setting of postoperative antalgic therapy is multimodal and multidisciplinary. An excellent organization and the allocation of adequate resources are necessary to get the best result.
