Changing paradigms in Cultural Heritage education: an ecosystem perspective

Over the last decades, changes have been encouraged in managing urban regeneration and revitalization projects in Global South countries, especially those that are directly related to the social, environmental, and economic changes or that are undergoing major crises or facing important challenges such as globalization, fast and often unsustainable development or the disruptive impact of digital technologies. The management and governance of these initiatives requires specific projects among which also educational and training initiatives carried out as cooperation between different universities. This chapter aims at analyzing the management and governance of a cooperative education and training initiative implemented in the framework of the international cultural heritage program called "Historic City Centers" developed in the city of Jodhpur (India). The workshop organized as a joint activity of the University of Ferrara (Italy) – Department of Architecture and the CEPT University of Ahmedabad (India) mirrors the entrepreneurial ecosystem approach often recommended as a management and governance model for local development initiatives.
