The emerging of enhanced intellectual capital. The impact of enabling technologies on the professional football clubs

The chapter aims at analyzing the impact of the enabling technologies on the companies’ intellectual capital management. Using the framework of intellectual capital as an interpretative key to illustrate the evolution of the managerial function, we will define the concept of enhanced intellectual capital. This framework is demonstrated in the context of professional football. The findings demonstrate that the intellectual capital components can enhance their value through the use of technology tools; consequently, the football clubs can improve the economic and sporting performance.
