Abstract:
The wide range of historical sources available on the Internet offers the opportunities to introduce young readers to historical reflection about Europe in the past and in the present. The Internet provides information on topics that are rarely covered in any depth in most history textbooks. In addition, therein it's possible to find multiple sources that address a topic from different perspectives (i.e., the different historical representations/reconstruction of the past by different countries). However, the online reading of historical contents adds the need to apply a particular critical sensibility, because the historical information is susceptible of ideologic manipulation and on the Internet everything is easily publishable. In the same time, it could become a mental training to learn to think critically.
