Abstract:
The article analyses the perspectives of citizenship education addressed to younger generations in response to the development of new technologies and social community. The paper explores the theme connected with political education within school contexts, with particular reference to the meaning that this concept takes on within society and school of our time. Referring to recent events that have changed our daily lives, the article describes recent declination of civic education for students and its educational implications in school and afterschool contexts. Therefore, the paper underlines the possibility of structuring paths related to digital citizenship, according to a pedagogical model that recognizes the opportunities of Web and consider the user as a digital citizen, endowed with rights and responsibilities. Establishing a new educational paradigm, allows a new, connected and constructive citizenship model, rooted in social context.
